I am Back

Yes it has been a while sinceI last posted.  I have not been doing all that much except working and getting ready for the Christmas shows.  Looks to be a busy season.

The only exciting thing I have done lately is to go on a seal tour in Newport.  I was hoping to see them on the rocks but apparently they don't do that until the early spring at low tide.  We saw a dozen or so just bobbing around.

Also we got to go to Rose Island and get a look at the lighthouse there.  And by the way, it was cold and windy.

Lighthouses

I really enjoyed our lighthouse tour.  We saw about half the lighthouses in Narraganset Bay and I am looking forward to seeing the rest.  Here is what you get to see:

Baby Gulls

Here is a question for you:  Have you ever seen a baby sea gull?  I am not talking about the immature ones that are big and brown, but babies.  Well I had never seen one until Saturday.  I was on a boat trip to see the southern lighthouses in Narraganset Harbor.  We saw about eight light houses, including the one that wasn't there any more on Whale Island.  These are about half the ones in Rhode Island.  Our last stop was Rose Island and I would like to return there and spend more time.  This is where we saw the baby herring gulls.

We found out that the reason you don't see babies is that they are hatched on islands.  Now if we can see a baby pigeon....
