More People

I spent a less than successful day at the studio today.  I was reworking one of those reworked pieces and I mostly came up with mud.  I decided to cut the one I hadn't messed with into 4 x 4 squares and it still didn't speak to me.  I am ready to toss it.

But moving on to more successful pieces, here is the last of the brush people for now.  I need to come up with a better name since not all of them contain brushes.

This is found objects mounted on a piece of wood.

This is a sea shell on found wood with rope and a piece of rust.

This is mounted on a horse shoe I found in Tucson.  I have since changed to face to copper.

Keeping Up

Since I didn't have a lot of work scheduled this week, I thought I would keep up with the blog posts by showing some work I finally got around to photographing.  These are more in the rusted people series.

This is made from an interesting tree branch, some wire and part of a turkey feather found at my sister's house.

This is made from part of a dead cactus (Tucson) and more turkey feathers.

This is made from a piece of metal found on the street, a sea gull feather, wire and a piece of  the cactus.  Waste not, want not.  All the faces are made from air dried clay using a commercial mold.

Brushing Up

I spent the day at the studio catching up on paperwork and record keeping.  I had been busy during the Christmas season and had not photographed a lot of pieces.  These are part of what I hope to be a larger series using using old brushes.

This is a brush I picked out of a dumpster.

This is a donated brush stiffened with varnish.  Love the blue.  I broke off most of the handle.

Snowy Days

Our first significant snow fall of the season.  I called out at work and spent the day painting the kitchen.  I must say my time was better spent here at home.
